Leslie A. Westbrook is a third-generation Californian who resides in Carpinteria. She is an award-winning journalist and author who covers travel, food, design, artists and other quirky, interesting people. She attributes her inquisitive nature to her parents. Her father Forrest was a West Coast cool jazz pianist; her Sicilian-blooded mother, Marcella, a child actress and theatre buff who attended Pasadena Playhouse and is very unhappy about not being able to attend theatre due to COVID. Marcella pounded the boards with Harpo Marx when Leslie was in utero, hence helping Leslie develop her sense of humor and joie de vivre before she entered the world. When not writing or studying Spanish to help in her work as a community activist, Leslie assists clients sell fine art, antiques and collectibles via international auction houses around the globe.
