With reporting from the California Independent Booksellers Alliance, Alta Journal brings you a list of the bestselling titles at independent bookstores across Northern and Southern California for the week ending March 19, 2023.
This week’s list offers two novels about family bonds. Pacific Northwest author Kristin Hannah’s The Four Winds, published this month, tells the tale of a woman fighting to keep her family alive during the Great Depression and the difficult choice she faces between staying on a dying farm in Texas and moving to California. And Hello Beautiful, Ann Napolitano’s homage to Little Women, recounts the story of a young man who, after being rejected by his own family, finds a new one with Julia Padavano and her three sisters.
