This week’s titles include Everything Now: Lessons from the City-State of Los Angeles, by Rosecrans Baldwin, a book about L.A. featuring a plethora of voices, including that of Alta’s David L. Ulin, whose review describes the points of interest found within the book’s pages. Also on the list is Ocean Vuong’s Time Is a Mother, a collection of poems written by Vuong after his mother’s death. Vuong was showcased in Freeman’s literary journal, which is edited by California Book Club host John Freeman.
