With reporting from the California Independent Booksellers Alliance, Alta Journal brings you a list of the bestselling titles at independent bookstores across Northern and Southern California for the week ending February 11, 2024.

This week, the bestsellers list features the California Book Club’s June 2024 title, Solito, by Javier Zamora. The memoir recounts Zamora’s harrowing journey from El Salvador to the United States when he was only nine years old: a trek full of unforeseen obstacles and acts of kindness. Also on the list is The Women, by Washington author Kristin Hannah, which follows Frances McGrath’s journey from a sheltered life in Southern California to the trenches of the Vietnam War, a fictional tale inspired by the very real women involved in the war.
