MISGUIDED EFFORT

The Soviets in the early 20th century decided to celebrate the proletariats and erase the aristocracy who had exploited them. There were wholesale name changes to obliterate the history they didn’t want to hear about, ignoring the fact that many of Russia’s leaders, heroes, inventors, and creative class had come from classes other than the proletariat.

Now some misguided souls here want to erase that part of our history that is now believed to be politically incorrect. Rewriting history was a bad idea for the Soviets. So when will it dawn on these well-meaning partisans that it is a bad idea here as well?
