EMOTIONAL RESPONSE
Thanks for bringing Harlan Ellison back into readers’ minds. Harlan’s work is the primary reason that I wanted to become a writer. His ability to invoke emotion and wonder and anger and force the consideration of a new point of view was unparalleled.
I know lots of people have stories about his abrasiveness, but the only contact I had with him was a very nice voicemail, praising the first comic book I had published. Thirty years later, it remains a favorite moment.
