With the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in an all-time high for takeout and delivery, the time is ripe for pizza boxes to get an upgrade. Enter the PizzaRound box by World Centric, a Sonoma Valley manufacturer of compostable and sustainable food packaging. The box, introduced in 2018, is made from bamboo and sugarcane. It’s the first 100 percent compostable pizza container that is entirely tree-free and plant-based. The improved take on the traditional square box reduces packaging waste and has a speedy composting time of four months or less. Founder and CEO Aseem Das launched World Centric in 2004 with the goal of helping people and the planet.
